    SEO Basics (for developers)

    Get the fundamentals right first: meta tags, OG tags, canonical URLs, robots.txt and sitemaps.

    1) Must-have meta: title / description / canonical

    Title and description shape your SERP snippet. Canonical tells search engines which URL is the primary version.

    html
    <title>Free SEO Tools - SEO Academy</title>
    <meta name="description" content="Free SEO tools and developer-focused tutorials for SEO/AEO." />
    <link rel="canonical" href="https://seo.lucas-futures.com/en" />

    2) Sharing previews: Open Graph / Twitter

    OG/Twitter tags don’t directly boost rankings, but they improve click-through and sharing — great for tool pages.

    html
    <meta property="og:type" content="website" />
    <meta property="og:title" content="Meta Tags Generator" />
    <meta property="og:description" content="Generate SEO meta tags in seconds." />
    <meta property="og:image" content="https://seo.lucas-futures.com/og-image.png" />

    3) robots.txt and sitemap: crawling vs discovery

    • robots.txt: don’t block critical CSS/JS needed for rendering
    • sitemap: include canonical URLs you want indexed (avoid noindex URLs)
    • Submit to Search Console and monitor coverage/indexing
